Abrdn Takes Tokenization Plans to the Next Level with Hedera DLT

Tokenization is the next big thing, and asset manager Abrdn seems to be on board with this trend. During the CityWeek conference, Abrdn's Global Head of Alternatives, Russell Barlow, shared that the key benefits of tokenization for a fund manager are access to assets it might not otherwise be able to own and the ability to invest in the same assets in a cheaper or more liquid form. Last year, Abrdn joined the governing council of Hedera public distributed ledger (DLT), and now it looks like the asset manager might be hinting at tokenization plans using the same technology. Barlow mentioned that Abrdn could use Hedera as the tokenization provider for the tokenized offerings that it's putting out, referring to regulated securities. Abrdn is also the largest outside investor in the regulated digital asset exchange Archax. While Abrdn's primary interest is in digital securities, the asset manager might consider trading crypto at some point, depending on market demand. With Hedera as its preferred public DLT option, Abrdn is positioning itself to stay ahead of the game in the ever-evolving world of tokenization.  

Hedera and Google Cloud Join Forces to Support Web3 Startups - Get Ready to Supercharge Your DApps!
